Facebook activa silenciosamente el Reconocimiento Facial

Bilde

What Facebook 250 Million Mobile Users Means for You

Bilde
For me it means, that I have do what possible in Facebook Mobile! A post from Smedio | The New Media and Social Web Guide for Business and Marketers by Douglas Idugboe has the whole story . Here is a part: Facebook and smartphones are all the rage these days. Last February, Facebook had nearly 100 million mobile users per month. Now, that count has gone up to 250 million. And if the current growth rate is anything to go by, Facebook looks all set to double that count within the next two years. It’s understandable that managing such a massive user base is no child’s play. Therefore, Facebook recently announced an upgrade to its mobile site that makes it compatible with all phones. That effectively means touch.facebook.com and m.facebook.com are being merged into the same site. The idea is to provide the best possible mobile Facebook experience no matter what device you’re using. 250 Million Mobile Users No other site on the internet boasts of such a massive following from the mobi...

Why Most Businesses Get Facebook Wrong

Bilde
Jan Baer says you must update your fan page at least four time a day. That's an indicitation of how different business must handle Facebook in comparision to a website. A post from Social Media Examiner by Michael Stelzner has the whole story . Here is a part: In this video I interview  Jay Baer , co-author of the new book  The Now Revolution  and founder of the popular social media blog  Convince and Convert . Jay shares why it’s important for companies to embrace social media now. He also talks a lot about why Facebook can have a big impact on business, and explains why  most companies approach Facebook the wrong way  and what they need to do instead. Be sure to check out the takeaways below after you watch the video. Here are some of the things you’ll learn in this video:

How friend clusters could make Facebook intimate again

Bilde
It is a real problem with not wanted friends in Facebook. There are hints in Facebook that shows us a better future. A post from VentureBeat by Peter Yared has the whole story . Here is a part: ...  The next attempt, Facebook Groups was a resounding disaster. Since anyone could add friends to a group, they quickly grew into large, amorphous collections of people. Your entire high school class may now be a group, but not your real friends. So here’s the fix, according to my sources: Facebook engineers, longtime fans of  graph theory , are starting to derive “friend clusters,” or tight interconnections amongst a group of friends. F or example, Facebook knows when a substantial number of coworkers have friended each other, and even knows that there are more people on the periphery that are close to parts of the company. Facebook has been incrementally adding this friend clusters feature in subtle ways. When you pull up a photo album from a friend, in the “people you may k...

On the Path to 1 Billion Users: Facebook's Feature Phone Strategy

Bilde
A billion users. That's the big goal in the industry. A post from ReadWriteWeb by Audrey Wattersy has the whole story . Here is a part: The Israeli mobile startup  Snaptu  confirmed on its blog today that it has been acquired by Facebook. The terms of the deal weren't disclosed for Facebook's first acquisition outside the U.S., but the sum was pegged at  $70 million . Snaptu builds applications for feature phones, and the startup worked with Facebook to develop its  feature phone app , released at the beginning of this year. That app expanded Facebook's mobile app availability beyond just smart phone users, bringing a Facebook app to over 2500 different mobile devices. ...  Mobile Facebook Users are Active Users Facebook says that  more than 200 million users  currently access the site through mobile apps. But here's a more important stat, perhaps: Facebook says that people that use Facebook on their mobile devices are twice as active on Facebo...

Microsoft Office '15 to Ship With Facebook IM

Bilde
A post from ReadWriteWeb by Marshall Kirkpatrick has the whole story . Here is a part: Times are changing: while corporate management all around the world worries about the distractibility and entitlement of the next generation of workers, Microsoft appears set to embrace the future warmly. The next version of Microsoft Word and the rest of the Office 15 suite will include some features very familiar to the kids these days. "For Office 15 we're building new products to deliver integration of instant messaging/presence with social networks such as Facebook," the company wrote in a job posting put online today. Stephen Chapman first reported on the news at  ZDNet  and said he found it bewildering. Not everyone feels that way, though; to some observers it makes perfect sense.

Which is Better for Social Media Monitoring: TweetDeck or SproutSocial?

Bilde
I've been using TweetDeck for years. It's good to give a me control on various accounts. But it easy to be inpractical with too many columns. I've just set up SproutSocial Business ed. for 30 free days to see if could be of help. A post from Social Media Examiner by Drew Neisser the whole story . Here is a part: #4: You’re wondering how you’re doing compared to others TweetDeck is like a nifty broadcast center, making it easy to send messages to all your social channels. But among its many shortcomings is its inability to  assess how your social program is performing relative to current best practices . This is one of the areas in which SproutSocial shines, providing scores for both engagement and influence right on your dashboard. Better yet, by following up with items in your inbox, you can  watch your engagement numbers improve , making you even more confident that your social media time is well spent. The SproutSocial dashboard provides a score for both engagem...

Bilde
The challenge in social media is not overdoing it. Not posting to much. And not being social enough. Read the article and try to find your balance! A post from Smedio | The New Media and Social Web Guide for Business and Marketers by Douglas Idugboe has the whole story . Here is a part: Facebook is by far the world’s leading social network with more than 600 million users. If Facebook were a country, it would have the world’s third largest population. Therefore, it’s anybody’s guess as to why it’s considered a marketer’s paradise. Though it was conceptualized as a pure social network, it has undoubtedly taken the marketing world by storm in the last couple of years. So, what is the mantra of success for Facebook marketing? As a marketer, what do’s and don’ts should you strictly follow on Facebook. I was amongst the early adopters of Facebook and I’ve followed it closely through last several years. Based on my experience, I hereby present to you the 7...

Flipboard and the end of "sourciness"

Bilde
Flipboard tries to break the "siloing" of content, by mashing them up in intelligent way. In fact, it is one of three reasons I currently use my iPad dayli. A post from O'Reilly Radar - Insight, analysis, and research about emerging by Jenn Webb has the whole story . Here is a part: Today's  Flipboard update  sports increased speed, an improved design layout, a partnership with Instagram , and the ability for users to search across several social platforms, including Flickr, Twitter and Facebook. The shiny new features are  drawing  plenty of attention , but the really cool thing here — and what likely will fuel Flipboard's success — is the platform's ability to seamlessly present the newly integrated social content without overly focusing on the original source or platform. In a recent interview,  Craig Mod , designer and publisher at Flipboard, stressed the importance of putting the content first. By making content the focus of the presentation, user...

Bilde
Guy Kawasaki is out with a new book called Enchantment. In an interview with Michael Stelzner he explains  what an enchanting product is : "The acronym is DICEE. It’s deep, intelligent, complete, elegant and empowering." I liked that acronym, and I'll try to use it on my iFacturas' project: Deep - iFacturas is deep, ie. it has a large functionality set, with the most important features easily accessible. It lets sweep through thumbnails of invoices as if they were photos . Intelligent - it register your fincancial and geographical context in order to reduce the steps you have go through in order to bill your customers, like obtaining your customers address using GPS . Why Facebook is the New Internet

Bilde
Think Facebook is just a big social network? Then, think again...and think bigger!! Here's an interesting post by Andre Yee at eBizq.net explaining why Facebook is, in reality, the brand-new Internet. Here's a part of the original post: If you think of Facebook as the most popular social network in the world, you're not thinking big enough. Check out this rather impressive  infographic on Facebook  (courtesy Online Schools) and it becomes apparent that for an increasing populace, Facebook represents their primary Internet experience. Here are a few statistics to consider - Over 500 million Facebook users and growing. 50% of them are logged in on any given day. 71.2% of all Internet users in US has a Facebook account Approx. 70% of Facebook users are outside the US 48% of young Americans get their news from Facebook On top of that, bear in mind that  Facebook leads all other web destinations  in hits and more importantly, time spent online. The trendline on b...

Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Actions. New book from our guru @GuyKawasiki #smm

Bilde
Our inhouse guru, @GuyKawasaki, who we only have met some shor hours at the BizSpark European Summit in Paris in May, are coming out with a new book. Guy has learned us how to launch twitter campaigns. We are now trying to follow his advices in Facebook. But we have very much to learn, and we will certainly run to buy the book. You should too, if you plan to do something in social media A post from .com by has the whole story . Here is a part: There are books and there are gems. Despite being an avid book reader, I don’t do book reviews very often. However, when I received an offer to review Guy Kawasaki’s new book, ‘Enchantment’, there’s no way I could have turned it down. For those who’ve never heard of him, Guy Kawasaki, he’s the former chief evangelist of Apple and widely regarded as the master brain behind the company’s game changing products. Guy is presently the co-founder of Alltop.com and a founding partner at Garage Technology Ventures.  A “guy” with multip...

How to add a Facebook Like Button to blogger

It's shocking easy to add the Facebook like button to my blogger blog. I just added the code from Facebook to the Post Template field in Settings Formats. A post from facebook.com by has the story : The Like button lets a user share your content with friends on Facebook. When the user clicks the Like button on your site, a story appears in the user's friends' News Feed with a link back to your website. When your Web page represents a real-world entity, things like movies, sports teams, celebrities, and restaurants, use the  Open Graph protocol  to specify information about the entity. If you include Open Graph tags on your Web page, your page becomes equivalent to a Facebook page. This means when a user clicks a Like button on your page, a connection is made between your page and the user. Your page will appear in the "Likes and Interests" section of the user's profile, and you have the ability to publish updates to the user. Your page will show up in sa...

Bilde
Millions of Angry Birds and Green Pigs may very well eat your crops! A post from ReadWriteWeb by Mike Melanson has the whole story . Here is a part: For you 30-something geeks out there,  Angry Birds  may feel like a simple, dumbed down version of DOS-based video game classic  Scorched Earth . For the rest of you, it's simply one of the the most popular games on the planet. If an  Angry Birds movie  and versions for nearly every smartphone on the market isn't enough, it looks like it has the world's largest social network in its sights. You guessed it,  Angry Birds is coming to Facebook .

How to add Facebook Comments to a Blogger blog

At last Facebook Comments was so easy that I mangaged to get them into my blog. I used the page behind, filled out the blanks and copied the code. Before I had registred iakttakelser.com and got and ID, which was automatically added to the code. I then used Setting Formatting and put the code into the Post Template field. That's all. I now have to see how it works the days ahead. Since we are in IT, something must go wrong no? A  post from facebook.com tells what you need : Comments Box is a social plugin that enables user commenting on your site. Features include moderation tools and distribution. Social Relevance:  Comments Box uses social signals to surface the highest quality comments for each user. Comments are ordered to show users the most relevant comments from friends, friends of friends, and the most liked or active discussion threads, while comments marked as spam are hidden from view. With Facebook Comments, Twitter And Google Login Flew The Coop

Bilde
The new Facebook comments will be installed with a single line of code. Currently you can log in using Facebook and Yahoo. Twitter and Google are left out. A post from TechCrunch by MG Siegler has the whole story . Here is a part: From a user perspective, this is all too bad. Having the option to login with all of these under one system would be great. Of course, from the perspective of startups like  Disqus , this social graph war is undoubtedly welcome since they’re a neutral third-party that is free to utilize all the services. For their part in this battle, Facebook only has this to say: This is an update to a Comments product that’s been widely used since February 2009. As part of the update, we’ve added Yahoo! as a third party login, and hope to add additional providers in the future. Google declined to comment. Twitter has not yet responded to our request for comment. Update : Here’s Twitter’s comment: We are not participating in Facebook’s new system for leaving c...

The Social Network’s Oscars haul: Best adapted screenplay, score, editing

Bilde
For me this film was the film of the year. It has impacted me in my work and social life, and will continue to do that. A post from .com by has the whole story . Here is a part: David Fincher’s Facebook movie “The Social Network” headed into the 83rd Oscars ceremony tonight  with eight nominations , including the Best Picture and  Best Actor awards. It walked out with only three: Best Adapted Screenplay (for Aaron Sorkin), Best Original Score (for Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross) and Best Editing (Angus Wall and Kirk Baxter). The film faced stiff competition from the likes of “The King’s Speech”, “True Grit”, and “Black Swan.” But given that The Social Network  was a critical darling , and that it also walked away with four Golden Globe awards (including Best Picture), it had a good chance at winning some major categories. (Check out  my podcast review of the film with VentureBeat’s Anthony Ha .) Here’s a rundown of The Social Network’s award nominations and w...
