∑   Jeg øver meg fremdeles på Clayton Christensen sin “ Job to be done ” metode for å finne ut hvordan regnskap kan skapes på nytt for vår mobile hverdag. Første versjon skrev jeg bare som tekst. I andre versjon lagde jeg så et “Mindmap”. Jeg gikk så igjennom kartet og teksten, og klarte å forenkle begge deler. Under er dent nye teksten. Nederst et bilde av Mindmap-ett: Hovedbok er et sett med jobber som egner seg for å dokumentere, kvalitetsikre og presentere flytting av ressurser: Ressurser kan være penger, varer, timer, tjenester. De forefinnes typisk innenfor økonomisystemer eller  Enterprise Resource Planning og finans. Hovedbok hyres innenfor regnskap, budsjett, prognose, varelager, lønn, reskontro, fakturering, megling, portefølje (forsikring, reassuranse, lån, pensjon) for å skape forståelig informasjon.  Hovedboks jobber omfatter blant annet: Dokumentering: ny registrering og endringer, kategorisering, regler, lagring, sporing Kvalitetssi...

I'm busy studying iOS and iCloud, and the implications for @iFacturas and other apps. iCloud are supporting Core Data, and the way they support me is surprising for me. Surprising and exiting. Instead of moving the database to the cloud, they just move the change-log, and use that to synchronize othere Apple devices. In that way, they can have local speed and synchronization and backup. I've actually never seen just that architecture before. Somehow it's like coming back to Paradox for Windows. You have whatever cool feature you like, but you have internet in addition. Apple obtains this functionality with wrapping the database in a ManagedDocument object. This gives save-less and undo functionality also. So I just have to dive deeper and learn how to wrap my CoreData for the iCloud. Exiting times ahead!

Oh my! I started exploring and programming XCode 4.2 yesterday, and boy I was delighted! It has two tremendous new features available for us: wrapping of screens&etc (Storyboard) and wrapping of databases (ManagedDocument) for iCloud. Doing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programming means a lot of organizing a complex business world into managable structures. So two new wrappers are really good news.  And they're not simple wrappers either. They are quite intelligent, and provide a lot of help doing animation between screens and giving the database iCloud functionality. Storyboard and ManagedDocuments will really be programming boosters in my field. We will see tons of nice stuff coming out using these features. And - a lot of great ERP apps.

The Apple platform is poorly represented in business. Since 1982, doing  ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), meant working on DOS/Windows. Two years jowever, it became suitable for me to do something serious. But we had to let the iFacturas app ve stored on Microsoft Azure servers. Icloud wasn’t an option two years ago, not even last year! With iOS 5 and iCloud everything change. I would characterize Apple Platform to be very interesting as an ERP development platform. I just had to combine the PDF and Core Data tutorials from the last weeks . In order to not have you to obtain the "Sensible Tableview" framework from @SensibleCocoa, I've based the tutorial on the standard Navigation Template in XCode 4.1, and checking for Core Data.  I then added the necessary PDF files from the PDF part of the tutorials, and struggled some days to connect the FetchedResultsController with the creation of the PDF. I ended up on a quite simple solution; creating a long string from each time the cell is configured, and use that string in the savePDFfile method. Update: I've posted the sourcefiles to github and you can get it here . Voila! iOS ERP programming isn't that difficult! In iOS 5 Apple will even let us easyli create iCloud version of Core Datal application. Expect me to take that up when it has been released next week and I've digested it!

Creating enterprise apps for iPhone and iPad isn't trivial. In @iFacturas we used 21 months to get out the current version. Now I'm diving into enterprise programming myself, in order to find a better way to do it.  If you know me, you also know I'm loving accounting, specially accounting program design. In many years, there has been two important parts of accounting programs, entering data and reports. Entering data has to do with database and database view programming. Reports with the same database and presenting reports, normally on PDF. When preparing for the following, and hopefully last, post, I decided to try to store the project in github.com to let you easily share it. That drove my tutorial to an halt. Without really knowing anything, I did a git init and git commit command, and suddenly all my source-files disappeared! I ceratinly had done something wrong, and had to try to learn Git in order to finish my small tutorial. At least I had to use Time Machine to restore the files, and recreate the project using Apple's built-in Git support. During the work I had a lot of help from the website to the book " Pro Git " by Scott Chaconn. He almost succeded in make me understand it. Way better than the "Git for dummies" wikis, which are made for much more advanced pupils than myself. I had to redo my project, marking it for the use of Git. In the last post I described how to "draw" on iOS, which served me well in getting me started on iOS PDF programming. Now I will combine  Apple's print tutorial for iOS  and what I've learned about drawing: As with "drawing", writing PDF isn't that complicated if you sit down and decipher it. And    Apple's print tutorial for iOS  does a good job explaining it. But sadly, the tutorial has a bug in this call. The tutorial wrongly writes: currentRange = [self renderPageWithTextRange:currentRange andFramesetter:framesetter]; instead of the correct: currentRange = [self renderPage:currentPage withTextRange:currentRange andFramesetter:framesetter]; So I got this part running pretty well with the following code: - ( IBAction )savePDFFile:( id )sender

I like to create a PDF file in my iPhone app. I then did spent to much time looking at various PDF framework. I didn't want to reinvent anything, but the frameworks I looked at just made things more complicated. So today I started to do it the Apple way, that's using Quartz 2D framework in iOS SDK. Happily I already have  iPhone 4 Development Essesials for XCode 4  in my Kindle, so I started on Chapters 32 and 33, which gives an introduction and lesson in Quarts 2D programming. I started with drawing lines, rectangles and ended up with ellipses. I've was greated this morning with the news that the Movation stock exchange for innovation companies  had gone public. And we're there. Seems we got a super high evalutation too! Thanks go to investors, advisors and collegues helping us so far! And to Microsoft #Bizspark witch took care and educated us with the help of Chris Shipley and Mike Sigal in Guidewire Group, helping us to learn to present and market decently.  I'm just so thankful!

I've got the "Sensible Tableview" installed. I've passed the videos one more time, and now I'm hands-on. Yesterday I tried a small project with some accounting database stuff. But ran into endless problems. So I decided to follow the Core Data video instead, trying to undersand the sensible way . The video however is showing a XCode 3 project, so there are some small differences. And as "the devil is in the details" it is also present here, and I tumbled. But finally I got it right.  XCode4 has a navigation project template with an example database application that runs out of the box. There isn't any editing posibility however. But by adding a bit of @sensibleCocoa magic, you suddenly get it! Update: Somehow I discovered that the project didn't save. From the @sensibleCocoa forum I got immediately an answer that solved the problem. I just had to add the following line to the  applicationDidEnterBackground method in the navTestAppDelegate...

I've earlier told you about that programming iPhone isn't that hard. That was only partly true however. For database programming in iPhone is extremly complex. I've spent weeks trying to build a xcode template letting me have it my way, just to stumble, fall, hurt me, sweat and cry. Instead I got a flu, and had to remember my main objective, which was to make accounting programming in iOS, and to see if a template or framework was the right solution. So curing my flu, I starte feverishly (no pun intenteded;) to look for templates and frameworks or people doing these things that could help me.  I added new tabs for ORM, Objective-C, SQLite on Flipboard and Zite, and after endless flips I finally found something: @giminete in Zaragoza seemed the most interesting. But then on Thursday I discovered the " Sensible Cocoa " tableview framework. They promise to build a database app on 5 minutes!  Oh what a joy. For iFacturas, that's a question on life or death. The whole boils down to if you design for the human or the company. After seeing what relief Apple's mobile devices can give, the enterprise user will start looking for enterprise apps that are human friendly. Well, we probably strive with this due to both Microsoft and Apple. Recently Steve Job has been the one holding the humanity aspect of computing highest. GigaOM's Derrick Harris says in his article : There’s no denying that consumerization is real. Employees really are demanding the ability to use their personal devices rather than company-issued BlackBerrys and laptops. By and large, employers seem content to let them do so because it takes productivity to a whole new level. That’s one of the megatrends driving VMware’s new focus on mobility and applications: If personal devices can’t be locked down from a security standpoint, it wants to make sure enterprise applications and data can be.

Folk går over fra å bruke PC til til mobile post-PC enheter som smartphones og leseplater. Veksten av PC salget har nesten stoppet helt opp og salget av smartphones og leseplater har eksplodert. Store folkegrupper, som i India og Kina hopper simpelthen over PC-generasjonen , og starter sin internett-tidsalder rett på mobile enheter. Horace Dediu viser at mobilabbonenter har blitt mer enn doblet fra 2.2B i 2005 til 5.5B i 2010. Mobilt internett, eller 3G, har imidlertid økt med 14 ganger fra 67 til 940 millioner i det samme tidsrummet. Horace diskuterer her om hvordan iOS eller Android kan erobre denne milliarden . Facebooks har valgt å kjøpe Snaptu, produsent av apps på Java Phones. Snaptu har nylig laget en facebook app for Java Phones. Jeg tror dette er deres forsøk å nå deres milliard. Her er en kortversjon om hvordan jeg tenker meg hvordan release svensk versjon: Det første og viktigste er at en svenske spør oss, slik som du har gjort, og siden flere svensker. Når vi har en stor nok gruppe svensker setter vi opp en Facebook gruppe. Der vil vi legge ut den versjonen som svenskene vil bygge på, f.eks. den norske, som inneholder norsk kontoplan, mva liste, norske titler og tekster og selve fakturaen.  Så ber vi våre svenske venner finne en regnskapsfører og en revisor.
