Neither GoDocs, Dropbox, Memeo or Google let me edit Google Docs on #iPad?

I stick with Simplenote until Google
makes its apps edittable themself!
GoDocs downloads and show the documents on iPhone, but I´m not able to edit anything, nor in iPad - bad! Googles own app is better. This definetly wasn´t worth the 22NOK!

Dropbox cannot be used with Google Docs at all. Its only a cute GDrive you can up- and download files too. There is however a number of apps working directly with it like Elements word processor. But then I have to alter the workflow of my company so no way.

Memeo is´t just an app, but is an Google Apps Premium app which you add to your account for $9 user/month. You get the apps for iPhone and iPad for free. My problem is that I use the standard version of Google Apps and are not willing to spend $300 to put the the whole company on that now.

Conlclusion: wait to Google itself introduce editing on iPad and stick with SimpleNote. Edit Google docs on Mac or PC.

Predicates in Core Data

Database programming is all about filtering and sorting tables linked to each other. According to the book Core Data , «Core Data is Apple’s object graph management and persistency framework for iOS, OS X, watchOS, and tvOS.» In a sense, predicates are an object version of the WHERE clause in SQL. Just like NSFetchRequest represent the FROM clause in SQL. I never have had problems with WHERE and FROM in SQL, but the predicate format strings in Core Data has been quite a struggle for me. I don’t think the struggle is only my fault. Predicates should clearly be thought, at least to me, as a method of writing WHERE clauses. Hva er den egentlige forskjellen på høstens nettbrett?

Google selger allerede et godt 7’ nettbrett, Nexus, og Microsoft og Amazon har annonsert sine nye som kommer i oktober/november. Rykter vil ha det til at Apple kommer med en iPad Mini i oktober. Alle nettbrettene synes å være utmerkede mht spesifikasjoner og pris. Og brukerne står ovenfor en vanskelig oppgave når de skal velge. Horace Dediu i Asymco satte meg på sporet i å se hvilken jobb nettbrettene skal gjøre for oss. Jeg har valgt å se markedet som fire mobile plattformer, eller «Eco-systemer», som de også kalles.
