Sales have grown more rapidly than resources hired to develop the products (or to sell them). In Q4 2005 Operational Expenses (costs which are not tied directly to units of production–sometimes called fixed costs) were 14.2% of sales. In the last quarter of 2010, the ratio was 9.2%. Sales and administrative expenses (which include advertising, promotion and overhead) were 7.1% and R&D (which includes all engineering, testing) were 2.2%. As percent of sales both reached new lows. Helgens ulykke i Troms har vakt til live debatten om midtdelere. Veivesenet vil helst ikke ha midtdelere. Heller ikke på firefelt motorveier hvor det er masse plass. Politikerene skyr midtdelere og reduserer bevilgningene. I Sverige hvor det er like billig å bygge veier som i Norge får de det til ford de vil. Jeg er enig i Organisasjonen Nei til Frontkollisjoner at nullvisjonen i Norge hindrer arbeidet. En visjon uten innhold virker alltid mot sin hensikt. Politikerene må si at de vil at 200 skal dø pga. mangle på midtdelere, og så heller ha en visjon om gradvis forbedring. Så følge opp med en målsetting om en reduksjon på 5% i året koblet til de nødvendige bevilgninger. En post fra VG har hele historien . The last year I've encouraged my children to work with art, statistic, math and economy. Of four, three agree and one are into behavior economics, two on economics and one in art. I would like them to combine all, but that doesn't suit them now. I expect the current demand for data scientist to increase as the social media takes on. Kineserne sparer ca en fjerdel av det de tjener. Amerika drukner i gjeld. I Europa er ledigheten svær. Til nå har amerikanerne stått for shoppingen godt fulgt av europerne. Og Kina øker produksjonen.  Vi i vesten er i ferd med å bli et nytt proletariat. Forgjeldet som vi er, eier vi egentlig lite. Se bort fra Norge, foreløpig. Vi må snu opp ned på begrepet arbeiderklasse her i vesten. Vi må innse at kjøpesenterne er de nye fabrikkene. Eliten forakter de som fyller opp kjøpesentrene. Nå er det på tide at de innser hvilken viktig jobb som utføres der. På kjøpesenteret foregår det manuelle arbeidet så og si på samlebånd, ved kassa der konsumenten løfter varer på bånd, for så å samle det i poser, før han utfører gammeldags tungrarbeid ved å bære posene selv i neste etappe. Eller skyver en tralle slik gruvearbeiderne gjorde på syttenhundretallet. Utføres ikke dette arbeidet med flid og plikt vil alt bryte sammen. De trygdede utgjør en stor del av denne arbeidstokken.
