Japan har flyttet seg 8 fot og jordaksen heller 4 tommer mer en tidligere. Jorda går også litt fortere, ikke mye, men såpass at dagen blir vel ett microsekund kortere hver dag. Se her . Jordskjelvet ser ut til å ha flyttet den største øyen Japan ligger på med 2,4 meter (8 feet), og skal ha flyttet jorden på dens akse med 10 centimeter, melder CNN. - På dette tidspunktet vet vi at en GPS-stasjon har flyttet seg 2,4 meter, og vi har sett på et kart fra GSI (Geospatial Information Authority) i Japan som viser mønsteret av forskyvninger over et stort område som er identiske med forskyvning i landmassen, sier Kenneth Hudnut, en geofysiker hos «U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)».
