My nearest city Hamar has a really nice bookstore - Gravdahl . They also have the best coffee-bar in town, and it's big fun for me drinking espresso and looking at new books. I'm quiet concerned about their future however. The Norwegian publisher are releasing their own ebook store where they will charge customers 5-6 times the price of Amazone. It goes only as long as only a small minority knows how to connect to Amazone and the likes. And it will come during some months. It have however been under development a long time. It will still charge 30%, and it is betting everything in that pricesensivity doesn't exist in Norway. I expect them to fail. So, Gravdahl, try to implement the advice in this article! Why struggle with publishing houses and editors when you can do it yourself and have 70% for yourself. Amanda Hocking is the really modern writer out there. This reminds me on the stupid Norwegian initiative to create a Norwegian electronic bookstore where you pay 5 times more than on Amazon  (the post is in Norwegian). Vi skal betale 240,- for å slippe å lese på Kindle. Fullstendig urimelig. I USA betaler folk 60 kroner for en e-bok. I Norge skal vi betale 300. Dvs vi skal betale 240 kroner for at forlagene skal slippe å betale 18 kroner - og kalle systemet åpent! Du spør deg kanskje hvorfor. Jo fordi en vil unngå Amazon eller Apple sin 30%. Men 30% er bare 18 kroner av 60. Hvorfor skal vi da betale 300. Jo fordi forlagene og bokhandlerne skal tjene sitt. For å få til det skal en finne opp kruttet på nytt og lage en egen norsk e-bok handel. Slik at man kan låse leserne til en dyr og brukeruvennlig løsning. Og åpenheten vil bare eksistere for for forlagene. Håper forfattere skjønner at dette bærer galt avsted. Er det ikke bedre å få nesten 70% selv og så gi ut bøkene sine på eget forlag? Heldigvis er vi et språkmektig folk. Vi kan lese på dansk, svesnk og engelsk på Amazon og Apple og la den norske bokbransjen seile sin egen sjø. I'm thinking about the recent news from Norwegian publishers, that during the spring they will launch their own ebook online store. I found that this final thought from Sara Lacy, perfectly describe this:  considering there are idiot publishers who are threatened by the Kindle, no doubt some will panic more as Amazon continues to decode the business-side of being an author for anyone who just wants people to read what they write. Here in Apps Lifestyle we apreciate Amazons move. Android doesn't have a decent app store, and Amazon could make it. Amazon will focus on the tablets, the competitors of iPad. I think this is also a good move. It's may be to late to do something for Amazon on the crowded unhealthy Android mobile market. And they even will do quality check on the apps!
